Jurusan Kimia Universitas Islam Indonesia memiliki tiga research excellencies diantaranya adalah bidang pengembangan kimia minyak atsiri; material dan elektrokimia untuk lingkungan dan energi;, serta isolasi dan modifikasi senyawa organik non atsiri untuk bahan pangan dan kesehatan.
